Wall Update — Need Committee Members

A few weeks ago, an arborist and landscape professional visited all the adjacent yards next to the wall on NE 75th Street. They identified and marked vegetation that was threatening the structure and stability of the wall. We have a proposal to trim and/or remove the vegetation that the board is reviewing and is aiming to approve at the next HOA meeting.

Brian Conlan from the HOA board is leading the Wall Committee and is seeking a few committee members to join this effort. Email spcchoa@gmail.com if you can help.

Safety Reminders

• The speed limit for the neighborhood is 15 MPH — please watch out for kids and pets!
• No one under the age of 16 should be driving a golf cart.
• Please respect your neighbors and keep noise down after 10 pm.

Neighbor Spotlight: Kristi Lord, L’AVANT Collective

Kristi Lord has lived in the neighborhood for nearly 10 years with her husband Eric and their three boys, ages 9–15. While both 9 months pregnant, Kristi met Lindsay Droz at a mutual friend’s wedding. It was an instant connection! Kristi, a successful corporate finance executive, and Lindsay, a senior marketing veteran, were the perfect “opposites attract” match. L’AVANT Collective was born out of a shared vision and near constant demand for cleaning up after their kids and pets, but wanting the products they used to be non-toxic, highly effective, and conveniently located.

We sat down with Kristi to ask her a few of our burning questions …

What’s your favorite scent? That’s like asking me to pick a favorite child! But if I had to choose, it would be Fresh Linen — it was the very first scent we launched, shaped by so many of our early community members who helped us decide. It’s still our best-seller!

What’s your favorite part of your job and your team? My favorite part of the job is that we rarely have all the answers — and I’ve learned to love that. Building L’AVANT from the ground up means creatively solving for everything: the product, the sales strategy, the operational infrastructure, the team. It’s equal parts challenging and satisfying. As for the team, my favorite part is being surrounded by people who love this brand as much as I do and are genuinely invested in its success.

What’s something you wish people knew about clean products vs. chemical products we’ve been using for years? Your body is smarter than you think. If a product stings your nose or eyes while you’re using it, that’s your body signaling that something harsh is in the formula. Clean products shouldn’t hurt — they should just work.

What “clean” product do you really want on the market that isn’t here yet? A clean home care line that covers every surface and every room with the same attention to ingredients and aesthetics that we’ve brought to laundry, dish soap and surface cleaner. Right now, clean options are scattered — you have to mix and match brands just to get your whole house done right. I want one beautifully formulated answer for all of it.

Where do you see L’AVANT in 3 years? On the shelves of all your favorite stores — think Target, Costco, and if we’re dreaming big, Sephora! We’re building something that makes you feel good to use and that belongs everywhere people care about their home and what goes in it.

We believe L’AVANT will have these aspirations covered in no time! 😀

Next HOA Meeting Last Wednesday of the month — May 27th at 6:30 pm in the Sand Point Country Club Board Room.

Save the Date! August 30th The annual party in the Triangle Park is scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at 4:00 pm. We’ll be joined by the Mixtapes, our favorite local cover band, as well as a no-host food truck and free ice cream from the HOA. There will be lawn games and face painting for the littles! Bring a lawn chair and some friends.
